RugbyMetrics

Player analytics for adult rugby

Tag the match on a phone. Every player gets their own numbers.

Squads, a sideline tagger that works offline, match reports and trends, for men’s and women’s teams.

The demo is a fictional team: read-only, no sign-up. The screens below are real, from that demo.

Match day, in three steps

From the first tag to every player’s own report.

  1. Tag on the sideline

Tap a player and an event. Tags are saved on the phone first, so a field with no signal is fine, and they sync when you are back online.

  2. The report writes itself

Minutes, tackles, carries, metres and team numbers are worked out for you, each player set against their own average.

  3. Players see their own numbers

Every player gets their own match report on their phone, each number set against their own average, with their trend across the season.

A player’s own match report in the player app: minutes, tackles, carries and metres, each marked against the player’s own average.

Built for coaches, players and clubs

Coaches

  • Tag a match offline. Tags are kept on the phone and sent when there is signal.
  • Minutes, tackles, carries and more are worked out for you, each compared with the player’s own average.
  • Plan the week in one place: 40 starter drills, training sessions, and a calendar where players say if they can make it.

Players

  • Your own report on your phone after every match, and your trend across the season.
  • A daily check-in on sleep, soreness, energy and mood, only if you agree to it, and you can say no at any time.
  • Your data is yours: export it, or delete your account, from the app.

Clubs

  • Club Plus runs up to six teams with a club-wide view, and moves players between your teams.
  • Roles for coaches, analysts, strength and conditioning, medical staff and club admins: each sees only what their role allows.
  • Export all of the club’s data or delete it yourself. A nightly backup is kept for 14 days.

Women’s rugby

The same tools for women’s squads

  • Tagging, match reports, trends, drills and the calendar work the same for women’s and men’s teams.
  • Daily wellness check-ins and body tracking run on each player’s consent, and a player can withdraw it at any time.
  • Pick your team colour in settings: the Showcase Women XV demo shows it in purple, on the dashboard and on the 3D player’s kit.

More than a stat sheet

These come with Club and Club Plus.

The drill library on a phone: search, filters and the first drills.

Drills and calendar

40 starter drills with steps, cues and safety notes: copy one, change it, add it to a session. Sessions and fixtures by month or week, with players answering available, unavailable or unsure.

The match notes card with the dictate button.

Voice notes

Dictate match notes. They are sorted into positives, work-ons and a line per player, where your browser supports speech.

A player’s clips: five tagged moments with their length.

Clips

Each player’s tagged moments from the match video as short clips. Coaches can share a moment with one player or the whole squad.

The opposition card of a match report: our numbers next to the opponent’s.

Opposition comparison

Tag the other team too, then compare your numbers with every team you face.

Two 3D players in team kit, head to boots: a man in a lime jersey and a woman in a purple jersey, each with a collar, a number, dark shorts, hooped socks and boots.

3D body in kit

Record body measurements and injuries on a 3D player in the team’s colours, with the player’s consent. Tap any of 29 body areas.

The running card: distance, high-speed running, sprints and top speed.

GPS and heart rate

Bring running data in from any GPS file, or send it straight in with RugbyMetrics Connect. Heart rate shows only for players who agreed to it.

For GPS and wearable makers

RugbyMetrics Connect

Send a session straight in with one JSON request. A club makes a key, says which player each device athlete is, and the numbers land in the same screens as a GPS file.

  • Players are mapped, never created from device data.
  • Heart rate is kept only for players who agreed to it.
  • A self-test endpoint checks a request without storing it.
  • Version 1 fields never change meaning.
