Player analytics for women's rugby
RugbyMetrics is built for women's teams and men's teams on the same footing. A women's squad gets the same tools: squad management with consent, sideline match tagging, match metrics and player reports, a team dashboard, and daily wellness check-ins. Nothing in the product is set up differently by gender.
Built for every team
Rugby analytics has often been designed around the professional men's game and then offered to everyone else. RugbyMetrics starts from a different place: a coach with a phone and a squad to look after, at any level, in any competition. Women's rugby spans school teams, university sides, community clubs, provincial and national programmes, and the tools should fit each of those without extra hardware or a dedicated analyst.

Squads, consent and minors
Many women's squads include players under 18, especially in school and age-grade rugby. RugbyMetrics treats that seriously. A player's match data is only used when there is a consent on record. For a player under 18, that consent has to come from a parent or guardian, and the app will not accept a minor's own consent in its place. Each kind of consent, such as match data, video, wellness check-ins and sharing with a union or pathway, is recorded separately, with who recorded it and when. A player who has not given consent cannot be picked in a lineup.
You can import a squad from a spreadsheet, check the rows before anything is saved, and add consents afterwards from each player's page.
Match metrics
A coach tags the match from the sideline by tapping the player and the action. The same metrics are calculated for every team: tackles made and missed and the tackle success rate, carries and metres gained, turnovers, penalties conceded, handling errors, lineouts, scrums, scoring and minutes played. Each player gets a short match report, and over the season a trend for each number. Colours compare a player with her own average, not with other positions, so a hooker is not measured against a wing.
Read more about how the numbers are worked out in our guides to tackle success rate and minutes played.
Readiness and wellness
The team dashboard shows who is fit, modified, injured or unavailable at a glance, and it can include a short daily check-in that players complete on their phone: hours of sleep, soreness, energy and mood. A player can only check in once she has given a separate wellness consent. Check-ins that fall outside simple thresholds are flagged for staff, and injury details are visible only to medical staff.
The app does not diagnose anything or make selection decisions. It shows the information early so that a coach can have the right conversation with a player.

Your colours
Each team can choose its own accent colour for the app from five options: lime, purple, sky, gold and coral. Club administrators set it once in team settings and everyone on that team sees it. The colours used for player status, such as fit and injured, stay the same for every team so they are always read the same way.
RugbyMetrics is in early access. Features that are not built yet, such as importing GPS and video data, are described as planned and are not part of what you can use today.
